湖北工程学院美术与设计学院的前身是1993年开办的湖北省孝感师范高等专科学校艺术系，至今已有32年的发展历史。现有在校生1412人、教职工76人。学院设有美术学、产品设计、视觉传达设计、环境设计、服装与服饰设计等五个本科专业，美术与设计大楼总建筑面积20000平方米,其中美术馆建筑面积4500平方米。为加快建设工程教育卓越、办学特色鲜明的国内应用型一流大学、奋力谱写中国式现代化湖工篇章贡献美院力量！美术与设计学院标志主要采用美字彰显了美育的特色教育方向。

The predecessor of the School of Fine Arts and Design at Hubei Institute of Technology was the Art Department of Hubei Xiaogan Normal College for Higher Education, which was established in 1993. It has a history of 32 years of development. Currently, there are 1,412 students and 76 faculty members. The college offers five undergraduate programs: Fine Arts, Product Design, Visual Communication Design, Environmental Design, and Clothing and Fashion Design. The total construction area of the Art and Design Building is 20,000 square meters, among which the art gallery has an area of 4,500 square meters. To accelerate the construction of a world-class engineering education institution with distinctive characteristics and strive to build a first-class domestic applied university with outstanding educational features, we will contribute the strength of the School of Fine Arts and Design! The logo of the School of Fine Arts and Design mainly uses the letter “M” to highlight the characteristic direction of aesthetic education.
